Patrick Henry High School

After a facilities assessment showed that the Patrick Henry High School needed to be replaced, IDG got to work designing a new central school building. The new building consolidates the existing 12 buildings that make up the campus-style school. The new design locates public functions on the first level and academic spaces on the second and third levels. A phased construction approach allowed the school to remain open during construction. Existing buildings were demolished as each phase of the new construction was completed.

Phase One included the library, cafeteria, core classrooms and labs, and the central heating and cooling plant. Phase Two included fine arts, athletics, and physical education spaces, including a stadium and auxiliary gym.
